Free Motion Quilting with Tia Curtis
Are you thinking about quilting your own quilts but just don’t know where to begin? Or are you familiar with stitching in the ditch and are ready to try something new? Well, this class is for you! Tia Curtis, internationally acclaimed quilter, teacher, and pattern designer, will breakdown the mysteries of free motion quilting on your regular domestic sewing machine. You will see and try several simple all over designs so you can tackle your next quilting project with confidence. You will leave the class with a quilted sampler that you have made.
Supply List
o Sewing Machine (with ability to lower feed dogs); don't forget your power cord and foot pedal
o Walking foot
o Free motion quilting foot (also named darning foot)
o Additional sewing machine needles
o Cotton thread of your choice - Tia recommends 40wt thread for the top and bobbin
o 4 light colored solid fat quarters (can be as simple as just muslin)
o 2 fat quarters of cotton batting
o #2 pencil
o Sketch book
o 6 x 24 inch or 3 x 18 inch quilting ruler
o Quilting safety pins (Tia likes the curved pins)
o Quilting gloves like “Machingers” are very helpful
