Daisy Dodge Workshop 2 - Mini Modern Medallions Wall Quilts
Join Daisy, as she teaches you Bauhaus-inspired foundation paper-pieced quilt block designs.
The workshop will include:
-a presentation on the art of Bauhaus,
- a bit of color theory and choosing impactful, unique palettes,
- basics of foundation paper piecing,
- mini medallion quilt assembly
This workshop focuses on creating a modern medallion wall-size quilt, inspired by the simplicity and beauty of the Bauhaus Art Movement. Students will choose from one of 6 medallion quilt designs, featuring 3” finished blocks. Class will inspire quilters to make bold and unexpected color choices for a one-of-a-kind piece. Class fee includes one of her Pattern Pads ($14.99 value) which is a product she offers that contains all necessary patterns and directions to complete one quilt.

Supplies needed:
- Sewing machine in good working condition; don't forget power cord and pedal
- Sewing kit you usually bring with you - scissors, snips, replacement sewing machine needles, pins, etc.
- Small cutting mat, ruler and rotary cutter
- Glue sticks/pins
- Scissors for paper
- small iron and ironing mat
- Neutral thread
- Sharpie/permanent marker
- Seam ripper (hopefully you don't need it)
- Assortment of solid fabrics to begin your quilt: yardages will vary based on design
NOTE: if you're not sure of your color palette yet, no worries! There is a fabulous fabric store next door!!
Class is limited to 20 students.
A minimum of 10 students is required for this workshop.

| Instructor Bio: | Born and raised in Michigan, a mid-western girl at heart; I graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio. where I studied both commercial and fine art with a focus on advertising and printmaking. My favorite medium was limestone lithography, which is where I fell in love with process-driven art mediums. This led me down many roads to exploring and honing skills in techniques like collaging, stained glass, and quilting. I have been quilting for over 30 years, making my first stitch in 1992. It all started when my mom and I signed up for an afternoon ?Introduction to Quilting? class. I never expected to fall in love with the art of quilting like I did. From that day forward, I was hooked and have been quilting (and collecting fabric) ever since. I began designing her own quilting patterns early on, and has a natural knack for creative and interesting color and design combinations. In addition to quilting, I specialize in acrylic painting and collage art; and have won dozens of national awards for my work. I pride myself on precise, skilled workmanship (often on a minute scale) with incredible attention to detail; and unexpected color combinations. My career in product design & development took me from Ohio to Michigan to Minnesota and landed her in New York, where she resided for over 20 years before moving to Florida in 2021, with my husband, Michael.
