Easy Does It - A ByAnnie pattern

Easy Does it is a ByAnnie pattern which introduces many signature techniques of ByAnnie bag patterns.  It makes a pouch that measures 6” high, 9” wide and 4.25” deep that is perfect for travel, hobbies or many other uses!

Easy Does It is constructed with a zipper strip - a zipper sewn between two sections of bag for the bag opening.  This technique is used in many other ByAnnie patterns, such as the Ultimate Travel Bag, Divide and Conquer, Room with a View and many others.  This class is a good way to learn on a smaller scale project

For this class, you can choose to make the pattern as written, or skip the quilting and sew the fabrics to the Soft and Stable at the edge of the fabric only ( As shown in one of our class samples that can be seen in the shop).  You can choose to bind as the pattern suggests, or mix it up and bind the seams on the outside for a different look

Required supplies:

Pattern - Full color pattern available at the shop for $1.49
Fabric requirements:
Three fat quarters - main, lining and coordinating fabric for handles and binding.
Fusible interfacing for handles: 8”x6” ( we recommend SF101)
Handbag zipper:  24” single slide zipper or use a 30” double slide zipper to make two bags

This project requires topstitching, so thread should match or coordinate with your fabric.
Handbag zippers are recommended and generally does not require a zipper foot.  If you wish to use a narrower zipper, or if your all-purpose foot is wide,  you may need a zipper foot.

Sewing machine in good working order and any notions that you like to have with you when you sew. (Snips, scissors, pins, clips, rotary cutter, ruler etc.  Don't forget your power cord and pedal/.

Basting tape - 1/8” or 1/4” wide
Binding clips

We will be focusing on assembly of the bag, so please have all materials cut out and quilted, (if quilting is desired).
