KC Landmarks Paper-Piecing Workshop




Join Jenifer Dick of Everyday Stitches and learn to paper-piece the iconic Kansas City Landmark quilt of your choice:  Western Auto, Shuttlecock, Scout, Roasterie, A Day at the K, Jazz District, or Sky Stations. 

In class we’ll review the basics of foundation paper piecing and begin with the easy blocks, progressing through to some of the more challenging blocks. Jenifer will show you her tips and fool-proof hints for successful paper piecing. By the end of the workshop, you will have the skills to tackle even the trickiest paper-piecing blocks! 

This is an confident beginner class; some paper piecing experience is recommended.

- KC Landmark pattern of your choice
-Add-a-Quarter Ruler, optional, but highly recommended.  A regular acrylic ruler works great too.
- Small cutting mat and rotarty cutter
- Small personal iron and ironing mat (with heat resistant backing), nice to have, but optional
- Fabric scraps for your pattern; see pattern for a list
- Sewing machine in good working order; don't forget your pedal and power cord

Please make a copy of your pattern pieces on the foundation paper of your choice.

Please feel free to bring lunch, snacks, and drinks to class.

Instructor: Jenifer Dick
Instructor Bio: Jennifer has been making quilts since 1993, when on a whim, she signed up for a beginning quiltmaking class at a Kansas City-area quilt shop. From that first stitch, she was hooked! Since then she has been making award winning quilts and writing patterns. Today, her and Trisch Price own the pattern company, Everyday Stitches. Jenifer holds a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She worked as an editor for 7 years before retiring to raise three children. In 2008, she began editing quilting books for Kansas City Star Quilts, where she edited 28+ books for authors such as Bonnie Hunter, Barbara Brackman and Betsy Chutchain.
