IMPROV Imposter Quilt March 20th, 6-9 pm

With Regular Piecing methods, we usually work on one or two blocks at a time.  This method allows you to make 6 blocks at once- and the result is a speedy, fun & vibrant quilt!

We will discuss improv designs, and you will be able to choose between a 6-block quilt with sashing, or a 12 block quilt.

A Sewing Machine in good, working order.  Don't forget your plug cord & foot pedal !
A cutting mat at least 18x24 inches
A 24" ruler, plus an optional 15.5 ruler if you wish for squaring up blocks.  (blocks in the sample are rectangular)
A rotary cutter with new, sharp blade
Numbered Pins, or scraps of paper to number your cut fabric
Thread, pins, snips & whatever notions you generally use for sewing
A sketch pad if you have one - if not, paper will be provided.

SIX Fat Quarters of fabrics that you like together.
2.5 yards border & sashing fabric.

** There is a second option on this quilt, which consists of 12 blocks instead of 6.  The 12 block version does not have the sashing in between the blocks.  If you think you would prefer that version, YOU WILL NEED 12 Fat Quarters, in 2 groups of 6 that coordinate with each other.  (The second group should not be a complete duplicate of the first group- but you might choose to repeat 1-2 of your fabrics to create color flow in the quilt)
