Quilting 101

This Class Series is designed to give you all of the basics of piecing a Quilt Top. We will cover fabric selection, thread, accurate cutting and piecing, assembling your blocks, adding borders and pressing for success! At the end of the Class you will have a quilt top that can be finished into a throw or wall hanging. Class will run from 6 - 8:30 PM on three Thursday evenings. Please note, there is two weeks between the 2nd and 3rd classes to give ample time to complete the blocks. *Quilting and binding your project will be taught in separate "add on" classes later in the Spring.

Improv Strata

Strata is fabric that is made by piecing together scraps that are similar in color and value. We will begin class by talking about the Color Wheel and playing with tints & shades. Then you will work on your own fabric strata which can be turned into a Pillow or for the more ambitious- a Color Wheel of your own!

Intro to Machine Quilting

This Class is designed to get you machine quilting your projects on your home sewing machine. Students will learn straight line quilting with a walking foot as well as free motion quilting. We will discuss batting selection, basting options, and marking. Class fee includes practice materials

Running with Scissors

The Running with Scissors pattern makes a handy zip up Tool Case that stores and carries rotary cutters, , scissors and more. A variety of easy-to-access pockets in vinyl, mesh, and quilted fabric can be customized to fit the tools you use and love. The small size of the companion pattern "Take a Stand" is specially designed to use as a base on which to prop the case for easy access. **MINIMUM AGE FOR THIS CLASS IS 16 YEARS. Binding Basics

In this Class we will cover the basics of how to bind a quilt or a quilted project with a double fold binding. Students will make and bind a portable ironing pad that can be made into an Iron caddy. Machine finish and hand finish will be demonstrated, as well as glue assist, and several tips and tricks to achieve a polished finish for your project. Students will learn the faux flange technique that many of our shop samples are finished with.
